The Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Quality Engineer to join our service delivery organisation. This role is key to ensuring that our services consistently meet customer, regulatory, and organisational standards within the military and civilian aviation sectors, while driving continuous improvement across processes, performance, and outcomes.

You will work closely with customers, suppliers and across the business support functions, project delivery teams and operational service delivery engineers on sites to embed quality principles, monitor performance, and support a culture of learning and improvement.

 

Your core responsibilities will include:

· Provide Quality support to Projects and Service Delivery to achieve defined deliverables and objectives

· Identify areas of risk, potential failure and ensure these are identified in the Business and PMO Risk Registers

· Provide support and assurance of the programme and project gates that achieves milestones and customer expectations

· Produce clear, actionable reporting on quality, risks, and improvement progress

· Coach and support teams to embed quality and improvement thinking into day-to-day delivery

· Complete or support internal and external audits, including preparation, evidence gathering, and follow-up actions

· Monitor process performance, identify trends, and analyse root causes of quality issues

· Ensure Quality Issues registered in the issues register are acted on

· Provide QA Impact Assessment on MAPS Change Requests

· Non-conformance monitoring, supporting effective root cause analysis, and assurance that corrective actions are fully implemented

· Provide QA input to Test Readiness Reviews and carry out checks when needed on a risk-based approach, including witness testing

· Approve deviations & concessions

· Identify opportunities for improvement and support activities to improve process effectiveness, efficiencies and safety

 

About You

You are a proactive and experienced quality professional who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys making a tangible impact. You build trust quickly, communicate with influence, and bring strong experience in quality assurance across complex or fast-paced organisations.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

 

Essential

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality Engineer role

· Experience working in regulated or safety‑critical environments

· Excellent knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001 or equivalent)

· ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor

· Experience with corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)

· Root cause analysis techniques (e.g. 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa)

· Good working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other improvement methodologies

· Experience using KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools

· Excellent knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001 or equivalent)

· Strong attention to detail and evidence‑based decision‑making

· Experience working within project or programme environments and the ability to embed quality controls/assurance into projects

 

Desirable

· Working knowledge of ISO 14001/45001

· Understanding of service delivery models and operational processes

· Understanding of risk management and control frameworks

· Experience facilitating workshops, reviews, or lessons‑learned sessions

Security Clearance Statement
