Chief Executive Officer, AQUILA
Michael Stoller was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Aquila Air Traffic Management Services (Aquila ATMS) in April 2018. Aquila ATMS was set up specifically to deliver the £1.5bn Marshall contract to provide ATM at all UK Ministry of Defence operated airfields and flying ranges in the UK and overseas for a period of 22 years and is a Joint Venture (JV) owned by NATS and Thales.
Michael has more than 15 years of executive experience within the UK aviation industry across a spectrum of project, engineering and business roles including disciplines from new concept development through to programme delivery, asset management and operations.
From 2013 to early 2018 Michael was the NATS Director Airports within the commercial arm of the business. He had P&L accountability for delivering air traffic and engineering services to 15 major airports around the UK. He successfully delivered the safety, service performance, environment, and commercial targets for the business including establishing long term strategic partnerships with key customers, securing future revenues, and delivering operational innovations such as the UK’s first Digital Tower for future London City Airport operations.
Prior to that (2009 to 2012) Michael was the NATS Director Engineering and Programmes where he led a portfolio of large and complex investment programmes and delivered mission critical engineering services for UK air traffic operations. During this period, he developed and commissioned two award winning air traffic control centres and led the implementation of ground breaking new tools for air traffic management.
Mike is a Non-Executive Director for FerroNATS, a JV between NATS and Ferrovial delivering ATM services in Spain. Mike graduated in Electronic Engineering from Nottingham University and has a Masters in Business Administration from Cranfield University.
