Aquila uses the ITIL Model as a framework for its Service Delivery Model. The Systems Engineer role is broadly aligned with the Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition and Continual Service Improvement aspects of the ITIL model.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in an Engineering discipline or an equivalent, relevant professional qualification.
Relevant System Engineering experience (preferably within the Air Traffic Management Environment or equivalent regulatory/safety environment).
A good understanding of IP Networks and IP network security. (CCNP level)
A good understanding of current JSP-604 rules or ISO 27001.
Ability to work in a safety related industry and champion the Safety Culture within Aquila.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
Experience of Network Test Tools (Packet Generators. Packet capture)
Good understanding of VoIP Systems (EUROCAE ED-138)
Cisco CCNP / CCDE or similar (CompTIA)
Relevant experience of Fault finding and repair of Ethernet Networks (Fibre and Copper)
Relevant experience of System engineering on high-integrity real-time systems within large scale, multi-disciplined projects. (Enterprise Architect or MooD)
Practical experience of systems integration, verification, and validation on IT projects.
Knowledge of Microwave link systems and their components.
Experience with Factory Acceptance testing and Site Acceptance testing
Experience with Air Traffic Management Systems IP Networks.
Role Responsibilities:
Responsible for the performance and management of the Marshall IP network.
Support the delivery of solutions through the Solutions Engineering Lifecycle, ensuring effective collaboration with the customer, suppliers, and Aquila Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
Contribute to the maintenance of the requirements for the Aquila services and solutions; defining requirements for future asset provision and ensuring changes are baselined and managed.
Provide documented assurance to the Technical Services Authority that the solutions being delivered are, and will continue to be, fit for purpose in all regards; including being safe, secure, resilient, achieve through life cost effectiveness, compliant to regulations and legislation and meets customer requirements.
Work with Aquila teams to:
• Identify, assess, and recommend techniques and technological choices to ensure the best trade-off
between customer requirements, Aquila business plan goals, technical solutions and cost & risk control.
• Provide value engineering and trade-off studies of technical specifications to identify opportunities to
deliver benefits and/or reduce risks to Aquila and Customers, including in response to proposed changes.
• Assess the impact of potential changes to the Service Portfolio, clearly communicating the implications of
the potential options.
